I’m Stan Serrao, a Genomic Wellness Entrepreneur and the Chief Managing Director of Welocity Life Sciences Pvt Ltd, also known as ‘Welocity Genetics’. We’re based in Mumbai with a nationwide presence, helping health-conscious individuals and families unlock the potential of genetic wellness through DNA testing.

Welocity Genetics specializes in predictive healthcare by offering a comprehensive one-time DNA test, which we describe as a ‘master health check-up’ based on your genetic makeup. Unlike medical diagnostic tests, this service is designed to help you understand your hereditary strengths and weaknesses. It uncovers the root causes of existing health issues and predicts potential health risks. Just like fingerprints and iris patterns, every cell in your body carries unique genetic information, and we help people tap into that through DNA testing.

Our focus is on providing predictive health insights, helping individuals take charge of their health by understanding genetic predispositions, which sets us apart from conventional healthcare services.

One of the biggest challenges we encounter is the lack of awareness and understanding around genetic wellness. Unlike Ayurveda, Homeopathy, or Modern Medicine, genetics is a relatively new field in India, having emerged just 20 years ago. Despite being one of the fastest-growing technologies, there’s still a knowledge gap among both health professionals and the general public.

Additionally, many people assume genetic testing is expensive, often comparing it to routine blood tests, which leads to misconceptions. Finally, there’s a casual attitude towards health among the younger generation, with poor dietary choices, lack of exercise, and modern lifestyle habits contributing to rising health risks.

We focus on building awareness through extensive online and offline campaigns to educate people about the benefits of genetic testing. By providing scientifically validated insights into future health risks, we offer personalized wellness solutions such as customized meal plans, exercise routines, and lifestyle modifications. Staying ahead of the curve involves continuously refining our offerings and embracing new developments in genetic science.

At Welocity Genetics, we prioritize personalized care. We provide a 12-month ‘Wellness Help Desk Assistance’ with every program, free of charge. This service ensures our clients receive continuous support, helping them meet their health goals and addressing any queries they may have. By maintaining close communication with our clients, we aim to make their wellness journey more effective and satisfying.

In the short term, we’re focused on raising awareness about the importance of genetic testing and its role in preventing future health conditions. We also plan to expand into the B2B space through franchising, white-labeling, and affiliate programs. Long-term, we want to make genetic wellness accessible to as many Indians as possible, enabling them to reduce healthcare costs by gaining insights into their health risks before they become problems.

We’re in the midst of the best time in history to be an entrepreneur, especially with the advances in technology and the growth of social media. In India, rising incomes and increasing demand for innovative solutions create vast opportunities.
