For Arun Kumar Suresh, founder of ParkingZone, the entrepreneurial spark was ignited during the pandemic, when life came to a standstill, and the world faced unprecedented uncertainty. Instead of being weighed down by challenges, Arun saw an opportunity to create something transformative. Today, his company has grown from an idea into a thriving business that is simplifying the lives of thousands of urban commuters.
Arun’s professional journey spans more than 21 years, largely spent mastering the art of sales. This experience shaped him into a visionary who could not only identify gaps in the market but also understand what customers truly wanted. When the lockdown gave him time to reflect, he decided to step out of his comfort zone and pursue entrepreneurship. The problem he chose to tackle was one that affects almost every car owner in Indian metros — the anxiety of finding parking.
Starting a business is never easy, especially without external funding. Arun launched ParkingZone in February 2023 with his own savings of just ₹1 lakh. From the beginning, he shouldered the risks, responsibilities, and sleepless nights that came with building a business from scratch. Despite hurdles, Arun never lost sight of his mission — to transform parking from a daily hassle into a seamless experience.
The initial days were challenging. Convincing property owners, tech parks, and malls to trust a fledgling company with their parking systems was no small task. There were moments of self-doubt, financial strain, and intense competition. But Arun’s resilience carried him through. His mantra was simple: focus on solving problems, and growth will follow.
ParkingZone began as a one-man venture and quickly grew into a team of sixty dedicated professionals. The company’s strength lies in its ability to offer flexible solutions. Whether it is managing entry and exit points with FASTag, converting unused land into functional parking lots, or manufacturing parking-related equipment, ParkingZone adapts to the unique needs of each client. This agility became one of the key reasons for its rapid growth.
For Arun, entrepreneurship has been a roller-coaster ride filled with valuable lessons. He learned the importance of persistence, adaptability, and building genuine relationships. His guiding inspiration has been Ratan Tata, whose words — “Take the stones people throw at you, and use them to build a monument” — resonate deeply with him. Arun, too, has faced skepticism, setbacks, and criticism, but he turned these challenges into stepping stones toward success.
Beyond profits, Arun’s dream is to create meaningful impact. He envisions ParkingZone as not only a business but also a source of social transformation. Plans are underway to employ specially-abled individuals in operations, empowering them through technology and training. For Arun, success is not measured merely in revenue, but in the lives touched and opportunities created.
Today, ParkingZone is on track to achieve a turnover of ₹5 crore within just two years of its inception. It is more than just a parking management company — it is a testament to Arun’s belief that even the most ordinary problems can inspire extraordinary solutions when approached with vision and determination.
As he looks ahead, Arun remains humble yet ambitious. His story is a reminder that entrepreneurship is not about overnight success but about consistency, resilience, and the courage to dream. From the fear of not finding a parking spot to the satisfaction of providing thousands with safe, efficient, and tech-enabled solutions, Arun has indeed parked his dreams into reality.
