Established in 2016, Square Feet Studio is a firm that provides consultancy and turnkey projects related to all Interior spaces, Residential, Commercial & Retail requirement. Founded by Devina Ghag and Prasanna Ghag, this interior designing firm is creating intelligent spaces for their clients as per their taste and lifestyle. As designers, they hope to bring about a change in the standard of living of people through revamping or designing their homes or interior spaces. They believe that there was a time when Interiors were done for luxury, but now times have changed & it’s becoming a necessity.
As a kid, Devina have grown up watching her architect father prepare drawings, accompanied him on site visits, and happen to get an idea of architecture and interior design as a profession. Good enough to say she was exposed to this profession since then. But her passion actually grew stronger when she started pursuing her formal education for Interior Design. Since then, there has been no looking back.
Specialising in designing homes, clubs and lounges, they always believe in less is more, and good design is good business. Though based out of Govandi in Mumbai, they handle projects PAN India and hopes to expand their presence across major cities. With the USP of simplicity, usability, innovation, and sustainability, Square Feet Studio has created their niche in a highly competitive market. Besides technical know-how, Devina’s business acumen has helped her to expand the company strength in leaps and bounds. She gives high weightage to customer servicing and is ready to move that little extra mile to provide a better design and service to her clients. Every client is different and their requirements are unique, hence understand the same and sticking to it is the success mantra of Square Feet Studio.
Prasanna was always inclined towards art since his childhood days. He has completed his commercial art education & then moved onto to pursue Interior Design once he got acquainted with the allied fields. Today he plays an instrumental role in Square Feet Studio’s growth and success.
Devina is aware of the shifting trend in her field, and believes that one has to design a space built while being mindful of its surroundings. Following simple and sustainable practices like usage of locally sourced materials, using digital technology more efficiently, optimal planning to ensure natural ventilation and daylight in projects which makes space energy efficient. Reusing building materials today go a long way in tackling climate change.
According to Devina,
“Interior Design is a very enterprising field & it gives an opportunity to all to stand on their own feet. My father, Ar. Sandeep Kulkarni has always been my idol since we share the same profession. He has instilled me with discipline & taught me to be a good professional first.”
She feels even before becoming a businessman, one should be a good human being, and others will take care of itself.
While starting up her own, Devina recalls the struggles she had to face. Payment issues and design clashes were common then, which she gradually handled as a professional. She had an office space to start with, so some of the initial concerns were taken care of. She also got a set of reliable people working for her, which further made things easier.
She feels that this profession comes with a lot of challenges day in & day out. Having the patience to face it, will take one a long way and without a doubt he will be able to conquer the best position in the industry. Up till now Devina’s firm has won the National Architecture & Interior Design Excellence Award for 40 under 40 Best & Trendsetter Interior Designer in India 2022, along with the Most promising and trusted Architectural & Interior Design firm of the year 2022 (Category – Residential & Commercial projects).
