Cubit Collective – Where Sibling Visionaries Redefine Modern Living

In the lively design hub of Bengaluru, Cubit Collective stands out as a studio where innovation, precision, and soul converge. Behind this vision are siblings Vrinda K Murthy and Vivek Yerkadithaya—a creative-operations duo whose shared ambition is to craft spaces that look extraordinary, function flawlessly, and feel like home.

Vrinda’s journey into design began more than a decade ago. Leaving behind a secure career in technology, she took a leap of faith to pursue her passion, joining her mother Supriya’s established interior design firm. A graduate of R.V. College in 2013, Vrinda brought with her not only artistic sensitivity but also a forward-looking approach—eager to integrate cutting-edge materials, modern techniques, and scalable design solutions. Over the years, she evolved from designing modest spaces to delivering complex, high-end interiors, mastering the delicate balance between creativity and feasibility.

The business gained new momentum when Vivek joined five years ago. An MBA graduate from the Indian School of Business, Vivek complemented Vrinda’s creative vision with sharp operational discipline. He focused on refining workflows, strengthening project management, and scaling the delivery capabilities. Together, they struck the perfect balance—Vrinda steering design and innovation, Vivek ensuring precision and efficiency. In April 2023, they formally launched Cubit Collective, bringing their combined experience of over 25 years under one distinct brand.

At the heart of their design philosophy lies Contemporary Modern Interiors with a biophilic twist—infusing natural elements to create peaceful, harmonious environments. While it’s not always possible to bring nature indoors, the intent remains constant: to design spaces that nurture well-being. For Cubit Collective, interiors are more than visual statements; they are reflections of a client’s lifestyle, personality, and aspirations.

What distinguishes them in a competitive market is their rare ability to merge creative ambition with flawless technical execution. Many designs look good on paper but falter in reality; Cubit Collective bridges that gap with deep technical expertise, manufacturing know-how, and an engineering-backed approach to building. They invest months in the design phase when necessary, refining every detail to fit seamlessly into a client’s way of life. Their vast material knowledge, technology integration, and consistent quality control ensure that each project stands the test of time—both in durability and style.

Over the years, Vrinda and Vivek have seen it all—from budget-friendly makeovers to ultra-luxury transformations. Yet, every project receives the same level of personal attention. They form close relationships with their clients, often staying in touch long after the handover. One project that holds a special place in their hearts involved designing a home for an elderly couple in their 80s and 90s. The experience, filled with warmth and mutual respect, became a reminder that design is as much about human connection as it is about aesthetics.

For the siblings, design is also a responsibility. They advocate for sustainable and green architecture, viewing it as a necessity rather than a trend. Looking ahead, their focus is on making bespoke, high-end interiors more accessible to the upper middle class—a move they believe will bring both growth and relevance in the evolving market.

Their entrepreneurial journey hasn’t been without its hurdles. At one point, the studio faced creative stagnation—designs began to feel repetitive, and the spark was fading. Instead of settling into the comfort zone, they shook things up. Internal design challenges, rotating “Inspiration Walls,” industry talks, exhibitions, and redesigned collaborative spaces all helped reignite the team’s creativity. The result was not just fresher designs, but a revitalized culture.

Vrinda credits part of her inspiration to entrepreneur Sarah Sham, whose ability to scale a design business with humility and grace aligns with her own values. Her advice to aspiring architects and designers is clear: “Stay curious, stay grounded, never stop learning—and above all, design with integrity.”

With their blend of creative excellence, technical mastery, and genuine client relationships, Cubit Collective is shaping more than interiors. They are building environments that inspire, soothe, and endure—a testament to what happens when passion and precision work in perfect harmony.
