When Dr. Kakali Roy Chowdhury and Mr. Rishin Roy Chowdhury founded LIB Education in May 2023, they weren’t just starting an academic coaching centre—they were starting a movement. A movement to make learning personal, purposeful, and deeply human.
For too long, education has been about fitting students into rigid systems. The duo wanted to flip the script—building a hybrid model where teaching adapts to the learner, not the other way around. Backed by ₹1 lakh in self-funded capital, a small but determined team, and a clear vision, LIB Education took shape in Bangalore’s Bannerghatta Road, determined to make languages a central part of learning again.
A Partnership of Purpose
With over 25 years of teaching experience, Dr. Kakali brings an educator’s empathy and a mentor’s patience to every student. She has worked with learners across grades, specializing in Sanskrit, French, English, Kannada, and Hindi, helping them not just master the subject but fall in love with it.
Rishin, on the other hand, is the strategist—designing systems, integrating digital tools, and ensuring smooth operations. His expertise in management and technology complements Kakali’s academic leadership, making LIB a balanced blend of heart and structure.
A Mission Born From Real Gaps

The idea for LIB didn’t come from market research alone—it came from real conversations. Parents worried about their children’s declining interest in languages. Students frustrated by one-size-fits-all teaching. Working professionals longing to learn new languages but unable to find flexible options.
In a country where core subjects dominate the spotlight, LIB became a space where languages could shine—not just as subjects to pass, but as skills to treasure. By offering personalized coaching from Grade 6 to PU, and catering to adults with language aspirations, the institute created a unique space in the education sector.

Challenges, Lessons, and Growth
Starting small meant wearing many hats—teacher, administrator, marketer, counsellor. Earning trust was the toughest hurdle, especially in a competitive city like Bangalore. But slowly, through consistency, results, and genuine care, LIB Education began to grow—recording 300% year-on-year growth and impacting 500+ students in just over a year.
The founders’ biggest lesson? Trust is built over time, and every interaction counts. Quick wins fade, but sustained commitment leaves a legacy.
Shaping the Future of Learning
LIB Education is now looking beyond Bangalore. The roadmap includes AI-powered learning tools, custom language modules, and franchising to make their model accessible across India. The dream is to build a network of language learning hubs—both physical and digital—where anyone, anywhere, can learn at their own pace.
For Kakali and Rishin, the journey has just begun. Guided by the inspiration of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, they remain committed to empowering students with not just academic skills, but the confidence to express themselves in any language they choose.
In their own words: “Education should never be about fitting in—it should be about standing out, in your own unique way.”
