Nothing seems as interesting as real-life success stories. Especially when it’s about a woman who rose from ashes like a Phoenix. In simple terms, Mrs. Rolika Singh is talent and determination personified. She is the director of Arena Animations in Jaipur. She has been the pillar of strength and inspiration and mentor to many students and individuals. Rolika worked relentlessly and contributed to the success of the firm not just to stand out in the industry, but also to empower women by educating and upskilling them.
Rolika is one of that rarest souls who had envisioned and worked for providing a better future for the younger generation in our country. She served so hard in order to uplift and encourage the poor and underprivileged kids. Facilitated them through by offering free 3 year Graphic and Animation courses and scholarships. Apparently, she has won Principal and Teacher awards for two consecutive years.
Early struggles.
Living in a society where women were left with conventional and basic choices for their career and having no back support from family and friends made Rolika’s journey troublesome. Young Rolika who was aspired to do more was frequently discouraged and asked to settle for the minimum. Her father had been there by her side to motivate and support her. She shattered the shackles tied to her by the society to do what she wanted and was passionate about. That’s how she began her journey in search of light at the end of the tunnel.
She had faced failures in academics. But she joined another institute to learn Computers and Programming. To equip herself, she learned Graphic Designing and later it became her passion. After successfully completing her course she started her career as a junior designer for a company. Even then Rolika had to face gender discrimination and had to fight back all the odds and hostilities. By that time she had left that job and joined another company as a senior graphic designer.
“ Time, Honesty and Dedication are the three things I have always believed and stuck on to and helped me to reach the height I am today.’’ – Rolika said to Brandz.
As she was preparing for her marriage and upcoming responsibilities, she had to leave her job. Later in 2004, she joined Arena Animation’s C Scheme branch as part-time faculty for Graphic Designing and soon was made a full-time faculty. As she has excelled and progressed in her field, she was offered a position of working partner at the office.
Unfortunately, after all the success she has reaped she was forced to leave her career due to some personal reasons. She had still zeal locked in her even though She had to completely cut herself off from her professional world. She was approached by many companies with promising offers but turned them off.
The destiny followed.
Arena Animations approached her to be the director of their newly opening branch and Rolika took up the position and continued to surpass as she always did. In 2008, an art exhibition was conducted at Jawahar Kalakendra, Jaipur which was adorned by the esteemed presence of her Royal Highness Maharani Gayatri Devi. The prominent attraction of the exhibition was a 3D film on HRH Gayatri Devi’s life. And it was a work of Arena animation students, which was guided and accomplished by Mrs. Rolika. Undoubtedly, it helped to add a golden feather to their crown of success. And Rolika continues to inspire a lot of people.
