Mr. BB Gupta- Director, Bal Bhavan International School, Sonepat
Mr. BB Gupta– the name that defines the true meaning of rich expertise, for 53 years of teaching experience. He is someone who immensely believes on ‘Work is Worship’ and strives to prove the same through his teaching capabilities, which he began at the tender age of 8 years under the guidance of his father. Mr. Gupta commenced his teaching along with his father with mere 2 students in Gandhinagar, Delhi, and worked ardently to reach the heights of owing 5 successfully running branches with more than 10000 students enrolled under ‘Bal Bhavan’ umbrella. Carrying an undying desire to reach his goals, Mr. Gupta worked in all aspects in his school from P to P (Principal to Peon) as per the demand of hours.
Rectifying that he never took education as a business, rather it had been more of a thought to upgrade the society alongside his father- Lt. Sh. GC Lagan, and eventually took the challenge despite all the things against his destiny and incepted the school in 1967, which progressed by leaps and bounds by imparting an environment for students to flourish in all aspects of learning.
Remembering his father, Mr. B.B. Gupta says, “He was a great man with great thoughts, having a motto of ‘Goodness before Greatness’, which I eventually imbibed in myself when I commenced working under him”. He owes gratitude to his father’s teachings, who himself worked for others to bring positive changes in society by educating the future of our nation- the kids, without taking care of his own health and family. “Spending gross time under his worthy guidance is the sole reason for me to achieve my desired goals”, he recalls.
Though facing some major teething problems while incepting his school, varying from skills, finances and manpower; he never let these problems overpower his will, and consequently the never-ending support and guidance of his elders, he witnessed the change in scale from 2 students to 10000. He recalls that it took 10 years of constant hard work while working with his father 24*7 to earn a stable position but for these years he had to compromise on his utmost priority- his family. It was challenging but now when he looks back, he feels it was worth all that hard work, which has subsequently brought fame to ‘Bal Bhavan’.
Mr. B.B. Gupta, who believes in the willpower of a person to create opportunities, is a selfless person with no expectations from anyone, and only targets to keep everyone around him happy by working towards making their future better. He has been applauded with plethora of laurels but a few achievements very close to his heart include ‘Best State Teacher Award, by DOE, New Delhi, and ‘National Award to Teachers 2011, by CBSE, New Delhi.
