Bread, Butter & Bounty

A journal from Shekhar Goyal, founder of Sriram Clinical Research Pvt.Ltd.

Winner of Young scientist award and Clinical Research Award, Shekhar Goyal sheds light on his journey, struggle and achievements. Shekhar Goyal completed his graduation in Biotechnology in the year of 2007. No sooner did he graduate, Shekhar began to work as a researcher in a Medical college. However, that is not how his journey began.
Belonging to a humble background of modest means, Shekhar had to work odd jobs of giving other students tuitions and such to stay afloat during his days of schooling. Bread and butter was a necessity but education was still a priority for him.

“I worked in half salary for earning bread & butter and this phase was the darkest phase of my entire life. Along with job work, I completed my studies. I am a hardworking and dedicated person and never give up because of atrocities that try to break me down.”

His hard work and commitment eventually helped him to overcome various obstacles. However, lack of adequate infrastructure in research institutes was another obstacle he came across. A man with a purpose, Shekhar saw the glass as half-full and seized the opportunity and introduced Siaram Clinical Research Pvt. Ltd.

“As I am a research-oriented person & MNCs faced a lot of issues to conduct national/international research in our city hence I decided to open my own company i.e. SCR to resolve these issues & help peoples to get the best treatment in our city.”

If it were Shekhar’s dedication, the inspiration and moral support to begin Sriram Clinical Research Pvt. Ltd came from his best friend, Dr.Indra. It was her words fuelling Shekhar’s passion fire to do step out of his comfort zone and give his due share back to the society.
As poetic as it sounds, Shekhar’s journal sure does pen conflicting thoughts as he faced opposition from circumstances. His financial status was the first to get affected and lack of knowledge in doctors and people from clinical research background was another. But God helps those who help themselves and Shekhar opened Sriram Clinical Research Pvt. Ltd. With INR 15,000’- in one room by his friends Dr.indra and Dr.Ashish’s support.

“To start research work in our small city (Bikaner, Rajasthan) where no proper resources and no skilled manpower available, Clinicians and peoples were not aware of research and not interested to conduct the research. As previously I worked in the clinical research sector and my colleagues knew about my hard work & dedication hence I contacted one of them & get a small budget project from one of mine good colleague. After that due to our company dedication & hard working towards the achievement of 100% goals, opportunities increase day by day.”

In the end, Shekhar credits the success of his endeavours to his dedication, hard work, authenticity, 100 % goal achievement, and genuine nature of his work. True dedication and hardwork always pays and Shekhar is the living example of this.
