Owner of High On Ground Architects, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Ar. Tejasvi Raval has had a creative mind since childhood and wanted to become an architect since she was 12 years old. Tejasvi completed her bachelor’s degree from the Sal School of Architecture, Ahmedabad. She had the opportunity to learn from many diverse faculties and from our Dean Dr Rupinder Singh, who is still mentoring her.

While studying, Ar. Tejasvi Raval visited many foreign countries like Europe, Turkey, China, and Japan and was able to explore a variety of Architecture there. She did her internship at Flying Elephant Studio, Bangalore, where she felt privileged to be a part of huge scaled projects such as A.P.J Abdul kalam science city, Patna, and many others. As she belongs to a family from a business background, Ar. Tejasvi Raval always wanted to have a firm. Currently, she has successfully been running her firm for the last 2 years.

Ar. Tejasvi Raval started her firm HIGH ON GROUND Architects in 2020. It’s been 2 years and they have completed more than 15 projects in Gujarat. The team designs houses that look gorgeous yet simple. It is basically for those who seek elegance and sophistication to be the highlight of their home. The modern yet elegant design is key to amping up the luxe factor in their space, making it look great while creating an ambience of comfort.

The team makes the kind of ambience that is developed through a lot of different elements put together, which complement one another. From flooring to decor pieces, each element plays a role in creating harmony in the space, making it look and feel great. Ar. Tejasvi Raval always wanted to have her own company where she could create new things and learn new things by herself. Also, with her knowledge and experience, she can teach her juniors and train them in the near future.

Ar. Tejasvi Raval considers Dr Rupinder Singh, her Dean from college to be her inspiration in life. Whatever she knows about architecture and design is all because of him. His teaching method was so unique and his knowledge is incomparable. She has travelled the world with him and got an opportunity to explore her creative side. Whatever she is today, it is because of his constant efforts of teaching and guiding her and all other students. She is thankful for his guidance and always will be.

Business owners have to face risk and adversity every day, but be able to push through it. Considering the field person goes through many struggles like how to do marketing or how to make a happy customer. All struggles and problems are learning processes, where every site teaches you ways to tackle different problems. Ar. Tejasvi Raval believes that you should try to communicate to the same community about the problems they face and how they overcame a particular problem so that others try to avoid that problem.

Starting with the most obvious architecture career, a role as a fully qualified architect is likely to be challenging, fascinating, and inspirational – putting you at the forefront of new technology to improve people’s lives while exercising your creativity. As an architect, you have to work closely with clients and users to design new buildings or complete extensions or alterations to existing ones, ensuring that they are safe, cost-effective, and functional. Architecture careers are more diverse than you might think, including building architecture, designing new buildings or adapting existing ones.

Landscape architecture, planning, designing, and managing open spaces, including both natural and urban areas. Typical responsibilities of architects include supervising the construction process, resolving any planning issues, managing the environmental impact of projects, consulting other design professionals, and sticking to financial budgets. Because of these various roles, there is an ample number of opportunities in the market.

To understand the client, the most important thing is to be patient. Educate them and show them multiple options, and explain your thought processes to open up their mindset and thinking process. Observing their requirements is important. Sometimes clients don’t know what they want but it’s your responsibility to understand the test of your client.

Most clients are great and they just want their needs to get fulfilled. Be a professional. Remember that you were educated as an ARCHITECT and they are not. The most valuable learning experience can be sitting in client meetings to see how an experienced Project Architect handles and speaks to consultants and clients.
