Hurdles Were Nothing To Stop Him From Bringing Change In Children Educational System Of The Country

Mr. Shatrugnh Haribhau Birkad, founder, Nehru Yuvak Mandal, is a great man with great even greater intentions. Through his organization, he has always tried to bring some changes in the child education pattern of our country. The road has never been easy. His first initiative was to make a film that could have an impact on people. Thus, he brought many artists from the cultural field in Akola district and understood their opinion on this cause. Then, it started making progress, and in 2008, the Venutai Birkad Film International was established. 

Since when he started to plan for a Marathi film, he had to face an immense amount of financial loss & difficulties. But he was unstoppable, he sold fifteen acres of his own household worth Rs 70 lakhs into his project.  Gradually, his efforts were showing, and he got noticed by several producers. Thereafter, he got a handful of support from the artist fraternity of several districts, and his film was finally released. In 2010, the film won a state award by Maharashtra Govt.

Areas Of Contribution:

Not just through films, he has tried other fields as well to bring out the need for children’s education to the citizens of India. Through his school, he tried to bring forward the players from rural areas. To give them a chance in education & sports as well. These kids were shown motivational films about sports and how they can shape their skills for betterment. Soon after, State level sports tournaments and assemblies were orchestrated in 2009 in Akola under the Child Welfare Department of the Government of Maharashtra.

Then, there was a step in awareness of tree plantation among students. As a teacher himself, he took full responsibility for letting his students know the significance of tree plantation among other things. The school soon embarked on a large number of tree planting activities to encourage the students of its primacy. The fallow land in the village was seeded with Gram Panchayat class land. Therefore, a student of the government served as the District Headmasters Association President to implement the scheme ‘One Tree’ in the schools of the district. In the year 2019, he was awarded the prestigious Shri Shivaji Maharaj Vanashri Award for the work done in this field.

Fields That Been Helped By Him:

Through every possible school activity, such as education, technology, digital classrooms, organizing lighting activities, polio, helping in an interracial marriage, various school activities, and even in 2020, for COVID 19, he has done a remarkable job for the underprivileged kids and adults of the country. The nation is truly grateful for his involvement in this field and others to make the country a better place to live.
