This lady from Varanasi left her corporate career behind to open up fashion house that supplies dress materials to celebrities and biggest name in fashion houses across the globe.

Into the business for over a decade now, Twinkle has carved its own niche in the world of fashion and lifestyle. Over last 11 years, Twinkle has been supplier to some of the ace fashion houses in the country and have been dressing celebrities and Bollywood stars quietly in the background. And its founder Janki Chahar is elated about the success. Even though based out of Varanasi, Twinkle’s popularity has been across the metros of this country.

Her interest in fashion and Bollywood was there since childhood and then after gaining 16 years of corporate experience, she decided to venture out on her own with Twinkle. The initial years were really tough in Varanasi as the male generation was dominant having legacy of Banarasi shops. But today, she manufactures and designs for some of the best fashion houses in the country and abroad. She supplies to Pantaloons, Sabyasachi, HOAD, Ogaan etc. She has also earned a lot of name and fame abroad with her quality product. Over the years she had created a brand to sustain in this competitive world of fashion.

In this busy schedule, she always credits her success to her father and husband, who rightly gauged her life that revolved around fashion and Bollywood. And that’s how they kept her entrepreneurial spirit high as always. On professional front, she draws inspiration from the works of Sabyasachi and Anita Dongre.

It wasn’t an easy journey for Janki, as she had to face lots of societal pressure for being a female entrepreneur in the men’s world. Small town too had their own orthodox mentality towards the same. She had to fight through all odds before being settled as a businesswoman. She also experimented with various materials and styles, thereby took the risk of reviving some of the Banarasi silk and brocade designs which others in the industry were not interested to take up. When asked about her trade secret, she admits that “I would say I was never driven by the market trends. My passion gave wings to the platform now I am standing.”

As a self-starter and highly motivated individual, Janki never took a back step while accepting new challenges. Her never-say-die attitude helped her excel in her entrepreneurial expedition. Though she has never own any such award to recognize her work, but she is content with the kind of work she has been doing and silently wants to do the best work in her category and thereby create happy clients across the globe.

With such indomitable spirit, she symbolises the female entrepreneur of modern day who remains focused and never gets distracted by her surroundings. She is an achiever who inspires today’s youth to pursue their passion and take the adventurous ride of entrepreneurship.
