Nothing bring more pride than to serve society selflessly

When you are in complete harmony with your goal, nothing can slow you down in the pursuit to achieve your aim. Let’s read on to know how a person works tirelessly to cater to society despite the challenges.

Dr. Saurav Anand has an intense passion to serve society, and work endlessly for a healthy nation.  He began his quest to become a doctor during his teenage years by admitting himself to the National Institute for Orthopaedically Handicapped (NIOH), Kolkata, under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. He completed his Bachelor in Physiotherapy (BPT), a four-year undergraduate program to empower people with disabilities. A sense of accomplishment filled his heart when he graduated as a qualified physiotherapist at the age of twenty-five. 

He joined the DESUN Hospital and Heart Institute intending to serve people encountering physical challenges. Dr. Saurav Anand began practicing as a junior physiotherapist from the age of twenty-five years. He craved to supplement his knowledge with a higher degree. This led him to enroll in a two-year post-graduate course in a similar field.  He specialized in orthopedics and musculoskeletal disorder to enhance his proficiency as a physiotherapist. He continued to perfect himself by pursuing a Masters in Physiotherapy to deliver high-quality medical attention to people suffering from physical ailments.

He was filled with compassion when he witnessed patients sufferings and pledged to provide some relief to them. His expertise helped him to increase his patient’s mobility, physical function and contributed toward a better quality of life. He was able to impart awareness amongst his patients on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and remaining fit through regular exercises. Dr. Saurav Anand helps his patients through physical rehabilitation and is deeply involved in their recovery process. He does not halt his efforts until he visualizes physical independence in his patients. 

Despite his achievements, Dr. Saurav Anand feels that he has a long way to go.  He feels the need to reform the healthcare sector and raises his voice in support of the economically weaker section, who also has the right to claim personal health care insurance. He also wants technology to intervene in setting up a system to connect the hospital to home.  He feels that he needs to be the catalyst for society to see the changes he desires.

“I have learned that nothing is impossible. If we lose hope, then we are paralyzing our patients who look up to us with hope,” says Dr. Saurav Anand in a chat with Kenfolios.

He looks up to his parents, who are his source of inspiration. He is humbled and pays his gratitude to Dr. S. S. Ray, Dr. P. K. Mitra, Dr. C. Sikdher, and Dr. C. S. Ram. He is indebted to the National Institute of Orthopedically Handicapped (NIOH), Kolkata for his achievements.

A developing nation craves more qualified personnel, such as Dr. Saurav Anand to escalate the quality of medical science.
